French Country Farmhouse

A complete renovation, this structure originally served as the garage/carriage house of a large estate in the 1920’s. The owners wished to preserve its charm and reflect its extensive pastoral grounds, while creating a country farmhouse with all the modern luxuries. Stone was used on the outside of the home to embrace the feeling of nature in this setting, including an outdoor stone fireplace, tucked away in a stone and wood pergola. The four-car garage was tied into the main house via an open breezeway to maintain a sense of privacy. To create a rustic “lived in” effect, reclaimed antique barn wood and beams, and reclaimed antique French floor tile were used through out the house. Custom built-ins were added in the family and dining room. New mechanicals were installed throughout, including HVAC and radiant heat. The master suite includes a bedroom, sitting room and custom-built closets, as well as a Jacuzzi tub and steam shower in the master bath. A custom wine cellar and gym complete the residence.
